TJ Lavin recently confirmed news about The Challenge 42 that many fans didn’t want to hear.
MTV went through a massive restructuring that includes not airing new programming. As expected, it directly impacts The Challenge.
Fans expecting to watch the new season on MTV will be disappointed. But the writing has been on the wall for a while now.
How can you watch The Challenge 42?
TJ Lavin has confirmed that Season 42 will stream on Paramount+.
But he has also confirmed — through the Zach Nichols Podcast — that it won’t air on television.
That will be devastating to some viewers, but expected news for others.
It does mean that people have to subscribe to Paramount+ to see the new season. It won’t air for free on MTV or CBS. Although it’s possible the programming could air on the networks at a much later date.
The landscape had hinted that this would be the news. Many fans had already suspected this would happen. Still, it will shock anyone who was trying to avoid having another streaming service.
For his part, TJ also shared the news on his Instagram page to keep everyone updated.
“The Challenge 42 will be on Paramount+,” reads the caption.
“Nope! My challenge streak is officially ending!” responded one frustrated fan.
“I’ll catch the reruns on MTV,” stated someone else.
“Great news. I hope season 43 and beyond will also be on the horizon,” shared a fan who likes the news.
“This is awesome! I already have paramount+ and I won’t have to buy it on Amazon! Amazing!” wrote another fan happy with the news.
