Unexpected star McKayla Adkins revealed how she plans to give birth to her third baby. She is only three months into her pregnancy. But, she is already thinking about the delivery day. Soap Dirt has all the details on how she wants to welcome her newest addition into the world.
Unexpected: McKayla Adkins Wants a Natural Birth
McKayla Adkins recently broke the news that she and her husband, Ethan Tenney, are expecting their third child together. The Unexpected young mom already has two children. But, she knew that she wanted to have one more with her hubby. And, since McKayla and Ethan wanted their kids to be close in age, they decided to have another baby sooner rather than later.
McKayla is having a baby boy with Ethan Tenney. The Unexpected former cast member is due in May of 2022. She has a few months until she’s ready to give birth. But, she already knows how she plans to welcome her baby boy.
McKayla Adkins from Unexpected plans to only have Ethan Tenney in the delivery room when their son is born. She does not want any other family members by her side. She wants to keep it a special moment between her and her partner.
As for the birth process, McKayla is going to try and go all-natural. She hopes to use the hospital shower to help her with the pain. The Unexpected star also plans to tell her nurses that she wants them to encourage her as much as they can to have a natural birth. She doesn’t want them to offer her an epidural unless she asks for it.

McKayla Adkins knows what to expect when it comes to giving birth. Being a mom of two young children, she has an idea of what she wants and doesn’t want when it comes to the birth plan. The Unexpected former castmate also had a few mishaps in her past deliveries that led her to her decision of having an all-natural birth.
The Unexpected reality star did get an epidural while delivering her son, Timmy. But, the epidural failed. After McKayla gave birth, she had “adrenaline and felt like the most powerful person in the world.” She was able to shower right after and didn’t feel any painful cramps.
However, the epidural worked with McKayla Adkins’ daughter, Gracelynn. So, she had “very little adrenaline.” She felt that she “cheated” her way out of giving birth. Also, once the epidural wore off, the pain hit her “like a truck.”
McKayla from TLC’s Unexpected thinks that there is something about feeling labor pains that makes her believe that she can go through anything. She also thinks it makes the feeling of becoming a mother more special.
Unexpected Celeb Stopping at Three?
McKayla Adkins did get pregnant earlier this year. But, the Unexpected celeb suffered a miscarriage. So, this time around, she waited three months to tell people about the good news. This will also be her last pregnancy. Once her third child is born, she will get her tubes tied.
McKayla from Unexpected wants to make this pregnancy special for Ethan Tenney. So, she is letting her husband pick out the name since it is his first and last child. However, she admits that she is not good at picking out boy names. Hopefully, she will be able to deliver with the birth plan she wants for baby three.
