TLC’s hit reality series, Unexpected, is all about dysfunction, and Season 7 is no exception. Isabella Leal- Stone’s mother, Tasha, has been arrested and is currently on probation. That being said, she has just allegedly exposed Isabella’s grandmother as a fentanyl dealing killer. So, why is she saying this? Keep reading for more details.
The Truth About Isabella’s Father
During the Monday, March 30th episode of Unexpected, Isabella Leal-Stone was trying to work things out with her boyfriend, Bryce Palmer. His family is awful to her, and he allegedly hit her, but they are having a baby together. Yet, they have agreed to go to couples counseling, but she also thinks he needs to go to anger management. Isabella’s mother, Tasha, is struggling with all of this as she does not think this is a good idea. She also does not want to deal with the ups and downs of the relationship any longer.
During one confessional, she noted that Isabella is likely having a hard time with men because her father was absent. He had his own battles, but she did not go into depth about them. Now, it has come out that Isabella’s father struggled with substance abuse and subsequently passed away from “bad fentanyl,” per a social media posting by Tasha:
“Just got off the phone…Bub did not die from a seizure. He died from bad fentanyl…. Let that sink in….3 different types of fentanyl. What killed him was the fentanyl derivatives.”
So, how did he get the drugs? As it turns out, Isabella’s grandmother was arrested for drug trafficking just days after her father passed away at the age of 43. That was in July 2024. Additionally, the Unexpected star’s aunt was implicated in the crimes as well. Now, Tasha has just alluded to her former MIL being the dealer. In 2025, she shared this:

Hope For Others
Texas-based Tasha Leal-Stone has encouraged others affected by Isabella’s grandmother to contact her or one of her girls. She wants this all to stop, and with good reason. However, as seen on Unexpected, she also wants the drama between Isabella and Bryce to end. After fans and followers saw Tasha sharing the truth about Isabella’s grandmother, though, they had various reactions. Some felt that Isabella looked just like her grandma, while others felt it explained a lot and questioned the casting process:
- Where did y’all pick up the whole cast at???
- Ughhh this situation is a mess
- I don’t think either one of these kids live in a safe environment. And I think it’s up to this network to dig into the abuse that these children go through
It was also noted that no one can force someone to do drugs and that Tasha should not call out anyone for her late husband’s choices. Regardless, this is a horrible situation, and no one should ever have to go through it.
