Nick’s crash leaves the Newmans reeling
The episode started with the mess left after Nick Newman hit his brakes and crashed his car. Feeling dizzy and hurt, Nick could not stop Matt Clark, who ran away from the spot before Nick regained his consciousness. Once Nick was awake, he called Victor Newman, which made the whole family worried and scared.
At the hospital, Sharon Newman, Noah Newman, Nikki Newman, and Victoria Newman all waited nervously by Nick’s bed. Nick told them how Matt had grabbed his neck and on purpose made the car crash so he could get away. Doctors soon said that Nick had a broken bone in his left leg and would need surgery, but everyone was happy to know he did not have any inside bleeding or worse.
Noah fears for Sienna’s safety
As the family thought about the attack, Noah’s worry turned toward Sienna Bacall. Because he could not reach her on call and knew Matt was still free, Noah feared she might be in danger. While the others stayed focused on how Nick was doing, Noah quietly left the hospital and went back to the cottage, set on making sure Sienna was safe before anything bad happened.
A past connection comes to light at the cottage
At the cottage, Tessa Porter showed up looking for Sharon and was surprised when Sienna opened the door. It soon became easy to see that the two women knew each other before. Their talk showed that Sienna had once been a roadie for another band and had crossed paths with Tessa during the days when Tessa was playing gigs alongside Tanner Watts.
As they talked, Tessa asked how Sienna had met Sharon and the Newman family. Sienna said she was dating Noah and talked about being married to Matt, also known as Mitch Bacall, and his history of hurting both Sharon and Nick. When Noah came back home, his relief at seeing Sienna safe was short-lived. After briefly catching up with Tessa and realizing she knew Sienna from another chapter of her life, Noah revealed the truth about Nick’s car crash and Matt being on the loose again.
Sienna worried that Mariah could be in danger next, but Tessa thought she was okay because she was away from the city. Still, the conversation took a scary turn when Sienna said that the only way to stop Matt might be to shoot him. Meanwhile, in a grim parallel scene, Matt struggled in an alley with his hands still tied together, promising that Nick was a dead man just before a mysterious shadow approached him.
Phyllis doubles down on her schemes
At the GCAC, Phyllis Summers left Michael Baldwin a voicemail, telling him to stop ignoring her calls. Her focus soon changed when Daniel Romalotti Jr. showed up with questions. Phyllis wasted no time grilling Daniel about his relationship with Tessa and warning him about the pain that often follows matters of the heart.
Daniel then turned the questions back on her, asking Phyllis about her secret plans with Jack Abbott and Billy Abbott. Phyllis said she had asked them to give the company Marchetti to Summer Newman if she helped them.
She saw Marchetti as a strong new business for the family, but Daniel told her to stop trying to control everyone. Despite his warnings, Phyllis stayed sure that it was the only way to win and she told Daniel to help her instead of trying to stop her.
