Back in June, it was announced that after 38 years The Bold and the Beautiful was going to leave the CBS Television Studios and relocate to The Sunset Las Palmas Studios. Don Diamont, who just celebrated 40 years on the network’s daytime lineup, has been with the soap since 2009 and prior to that, played Brad on The Young and the Restless from 1985 until his character died the same year he took on the role of Bill.
The actor took to his official Instagram to post photos, including one of his TV son Crew Morrow (Will), from the cast’s first day of filming and shared, “The Bold and the Beautiful’s first shooting day at our incredible new home, Sunset Las Palmas Studios,” to which the studio replied, “So glad to have you on the lot!” He went on to state, “This legendary lot was founded in 1919 and numerous motion picture and television productions have been shot there since.” He deemed it a “pretty special place” then added, “Feels like going back in time. Onward and upward!” And while he had been in the neighborhood, he stopped at another legendary place, The Formosa Café, for “some takeout on the way home.”
Last month, some of Diamont’s castmates discussed their thoughts on the move, including John McCook (Eric) who shared a photo from his nearly empty dressing room and remarked how the show’s new home would “rebuild, refresh and enlarge our sets, bringing back the old glitz and glamour of our show.” Ashley Jones posted an emotional video while walking through the halls that she grew up in while playing Bridget and Megan on Young & Restless before that.
